Last night I read a great post on Slate about Shaquille O’Neal’s LinkedIn profile:
It made me think about who I connect with online.
Profiles matter. An absence of profile makes me distrust a person. I’m not looking for thought-out self-branding just a reason to connect with that person. Maybe we have a shared interest. Maybe we work in the same school board. Maybe the person’s blog is listed, and it’s awesome. Maybe, like Shaq, the person has made me giggle.
I really don’t think there’s such a thing as a right way to write a good profile. However, here are some things to consider when writing/updating yours.
