How do feathers help birds to fly?
Because without feathers birds would be like humans which is just meat and the reason feathers help is because they are hollow which means is very light so when they flap their wings it lifts them off the ground and because feathers on a bird’s wings provide a lightweight but solid surface to push against the air. As the wing flaps downward, the feathers mesh together, then part to allow air through as it sweeps upward again. As well as allowing it to fly, a bird’s feathers keep it warm and dry.
Because in science we are talking about flight and gravity so I think this will help us understand it a lot more than we already do.
